Ronex was born in 1977 in southwest Uganda, and graduated in fine arts from Makerere University, Kampala in 2001. He has travelled to Germany for further study, and his work has been exhibited in the Netherlands, France, Germany, Australia, and Africa, including the East Africa Art Biennale, 2003 and 2005. He was Artist of the Month at the Alliance Francaise, Kampala in 2002.
Many of Ronex’s paintings depict women. “Our (African) women are unsung heroes, and their rights have been trampled upon. My dream is to project them in another light; one in which they are proud of their psyche, their body, and their manifold roles in society". Ronex
